An Out Together project
LGBTQ+ people belong in rural Britain.
Thousands of us live, work and build our lives in villages, on farms, along the coast and in market towns. This is a place to find support, useful information and one another.

Rural life can feel isolating
- Little or no public transport to the nearest city scene.
- Patchy broadband and mobile signal when everything is online.
- Small communities where privacy is hard and gossip travels.
- GPs and services with little LGBTQ+ experience.
- Isolation that hits hardest for older and disabled people.
You should not have to leave the place you call home to live openly, safely and well.
Part of Out Together
We want rural communities to be places where LGBTQ+ people are visible, valued and welcome. rural.lgbt is an Out Together project, building on its rural hubs, social events and digital inclusion work.
